Beyond Casual Lesson Flow Explained

Warm Up Chat

We start with a five to ten minute warm up chat about current events or review of the previous phrases and vocabulary.  This is designed to get the student warmed up.

​Introduction of the Topic

We watch a short video, image, or news article to introduce a topic, pre-teaches 5-7 key vocabulary words/expressions for reference, and includes brief comprehension questions to ensure understanding.

Guided Discussion

We focus more on open-ended questions to encourage discussion, express opinions and elaborate on them. Catch ball phrases and follow up questions are highly encourages with far less interruptions or corrections.

Business Interview

Critical Thinking Task

We encourage deeper engagement and idea formulation through debates, role-playing, "Devil's Advocate" exercises, or problem-solving scenarios.

Good Friends

Wrap Up

We conclude the lesson by providing constructive feedback, reinforcing key takeaways, and ending on a positive note through error correction, reflection on the lesson's highlights, and previewing potential topics for the next session.
