School Courses

The LSE courses are holistic in approach.  They are geared towards effective language learning and understanding.  As most students expressed having difficulty in communicating in English, most courses are designed to teach the specifics of the English language through Communication.  This is an innovative and radical method of teaching whereby structures, syntax and grammar are learned through the process of speaking.  Learning a language in this manner is far more effective and efficient.

Once students apply for a course, they are requested to take a placement or self-evaluation test.  According to the results obtained in this test, students are then advised to follow a programme designed to fit within their time-frames.  Of course, in this manner, students can commit themselves seriously to undertake relative EFL examinations such as The Trinity College of London, University of London and University of Cambridge examinations.  Other students who intend to further their studies in the USA are advised to take the TOEFL test which is requested by most US entities who offer courses for non-native speakers of English.

The LSE also organises courses for students for whom English is the first or second language whose intention is to undertake GCSE examinations at Ordinary and Advanced Level.  The LSE covers the courses of English that lead to these examinations held by either the University of London or the University of Oxford.

Further to the above, students wishing to obtain a first degree in English (B.A. English) with the University of London, may contact the LSE to obtain information regarding the cost of tuition, time-frames, syllabii and texts in order to take the BA examinations in London or another centre, such as Malta.  As this is a degree course, all tuition is individual tuition and the course is designed in units just as the courses designed for University students who attend the colleges  and universities that confer degrees by the University of London.
