BUSINESS ENGLISH COURSE

The LSE holds Business English courses on a regular basis.  These courses focus on aspects related to the world of business and the use of English in this environment. This International Business English course is aimed at those who are in an Executive or Managerial position, those who would like to improve their Business English interaction and those  who are moving up the management ladder.

Professionals who have graduated in their specialised areas and who would like to familiarise themselves with International Business English would find this course very beneficial.  The LSE has designed this Business English course with you in mind. and has brought these requests to the classroom.

This course emphasises the use of communication.  The aim of such a course is to encourage candidates to speak more freely in English.  Through role-play and case studies they are given the chance to practise the necessary skills in:

  • Meeting people face to face
  • Communicating with people on the telephone
  • Video conferencing
  • Strategic Letter Writing
  • Planning Advertising
  • Report Writing

Other integrated activities include communicating, reading, listening and writing tasks. Related vocabulary and the practice of the functional language required in business situations are also presented.  Candidates go through an extensive programme based on the level of English, course duration candidates' needs. These courses, like the other courses at the LSE, are available either in small groups that do not exceed 3 students or customised for private individuals as a personal tuition programme.

Candidates having a rudimentary level of the English language are encouraged to take a short English language course which would give them the opportunity to learn the basic grammatical points and key vocabulary before taking the Business English course.

The duration of the programme is 36 hours.
